Race Radio has been a creation of so many peoples’ appreciation of stock car racing. The fraternity and family that is auto racing has grown because it doesn’t matter whether it’s Dale Jr., Jeff Gordon, Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart and the like or the local racers working on their cars, bikes, etc. in their free time to participate in the sport they love.
EVERY driver began racing on Saturdays long before some dreams were realized for those who now are at racings pinnacle - NASCAR’s Sprint Cup. Every road traveled tells a different story and the goal of Race Radio is to help tell those stories and talk about not only what’s new and exciting in racing, but also to celebrate it’s great tradition.
Race Radio has been lucky enough to already have had some incredible guest such as:
Even opportunities to swap great stories from the “Road Course Ringer.”
As far as myself, Greg “Coz” Cozzo, feel quite blessed to get the opportunity to hang out with you, have some fun and help tell these stories.
I’ve grown up in the San Bernardino area and my family has always been associated with the National Orange Show. I grew up coming out to Orange Show Speedway and seeing generations of racers like the Scheideckers and Beckers racing. My real appreciation and love of the sport grew even more when Steve Larsen recruited me to help out at Perris Auto Speedway and the rest is history. I later followed Steve to Orange Show Speedway to serve as the on-track announcer as he took on the prolonged task of slowly revamping the now ASA sanctioned Orange Show Speedway.
My background is in Sports Marketing, Fund Raising, Promotions and Community Relations with such
organizations like the Stampede (now IE 66ers). I have also had the honor of serving on the Board of Directors for the Inland Empire Chapter of the American Red Cross.
I’m presently lucky enough to be hosting Race Radio on Q103.3 FM in Temecula, Morning Show Host at Smooth Jazz KMYT 94.5FM (www.kmyt945.com) and serving as track announcer at Orange Show Speedway, which has blossomed into Best of the West Racing with the McCray family. I continue each week to try and improve my skills to help provide a great show for all those fans who come out to the track.
My involvement in the radio industry is all thanks to Steve and the crew at KCAL FM (96.7 KCAL Rocks). The greatest gift they gave me was not just the opportunity, but to always treat you, the listener, with respect and appreciation that you’ve taken the time to tune in and hang out.
So I hope you enjoy!
To Steve, thank you for the opportunity, your knowledge and input; to Bill, for giving me the opportunity and to my Grandfather Bill for being my true inspiration and for his bad jokes which have always made me smile.
